The Man I Loved
I loved him
That was true
But never knew
If he loved me too.
One day I plucked
A yellow flower
From a plant
It smelled absolutely wild
Benumbed my senses
And put me in a trance.
Strangely I smelled love
In the flower so wild and fresh
Silently I came
To the man I loved
I brushed his cheek
With the flower I picked
He leaned towards me
And held me so near
Kissed my hands
And caressed my hair
I inhaled from him
Not the fragrance of the flower
But the scent of my love.
